Welcome to the Idaho Pony of the Americas Club web site, please look around and keep checking back as we will be adding news, events and pictures on a regular basis.
The POA ranges in height from 46 to 56 inches at the withers. They must exhibit characteristics and an approved coat pattern to be eligible for registration. These include mottled skin, white sclera, striped hooves and Appaloosa color patterns. The POA was developed for youth, yet capable of carrying an adult in any equine activity. There is a wide range of show events offered such as Western Pleasure, Reining, Tail, Costume, Showmanship, English, Driving and Lead Line to name a few. There are also a wide range of timed events offered such as Barrels, Flag Race, Handy Horse, Texas-Rollback, Go-Go, Keyhole, Goat Tying and Pole Bending with many others as well. POA also offers a 19 and over program that provides an avenue for adults to compete using registered POAs four years and younger. A POA show offers something for the whole family.
